so i'm starting to wean him and he's not too happy, especially at night. i figured a gradual weaning would be easier than a cold turkey one. we'll find out.
here's the method i'm approaching, it's for co-sleepers. last night was the second night and i've skipped straight to stage 2. i'm using the crib even though it says not to. this method seems a little nicer on the baby than the pu/pd from the baby whisperer. i'll give you an update in the future.

good luck. At least if you can avoid formula, you will avoid that battle. Formula makes me gag when I smell it and I had to force my baby to eat it and like it... not fun. He's off the juice totally as of this week so it is possible! As far as the letting him fall asleep on his own, it may not be right for you, but I would put Teagan in bed and let him cry for 20 minutes, 95% of the time he was asleep by the time 20 minutes passed. If he wasn't I told myself I could get him up, but I rarely needed to. Now, Teagan often reaches for his crib at bed time, I offer to rock him to sleep and some nights he lets me, but other nights he just wants to be put down in the crib with his teddy and aquarium music maker. As he sleeps for longer, you will have more milk in the morning, consider pumping it and saving it so that you can give him a big bottle the next night right before bed. I am no expert, just thought I would share from my experiences :-)
