i have cravings for the farmer's markets in the bay area. everything tastes like it's grown in the garden of eden! those early girl tomatoes are freaking amazing! i also caught up with karen burton who i haven't seen in years! she's now in seattle but was visiting a friend in the bay area for only 2 days. i'm so lucky to have seen her, even if it were just for 1 second.
got to spend a lot of quality time with the spremiches, some of my favorite people. michele and i used to work together at restoration hardware and we became really close. we used to drink wine at lunch when things got really shitty at work. i ended up leaving resto because the office politics got to heavy but i learned my lesson...screw office politics, if you're working and hanging out with a bestie, enjoy life and stay! it was so nice of her to let us crash her house for 10 days in novato. her family is so cute and loving, ziggy and garrick really got along. i already miss them!
california is so beautiful. i can't believe i lived there, i can't believe i left there.
mark had plans to drink with his ex-co-workers and i had a special date with ziggy. the fog was creeping down mt tam. we went to a playground in corte madera near my old job at restoration hardware. ziggy was obsessed with this rolly slide. then tha siam, where the waitress was charmed by ziggy and brought him heart shaped rice. it's good to be cute.
we stayed in this really cute hotel in yosemite. it was like a plantation and it was as old as the hills, they called the swimming pool a swim tank.
giant sequoias and redwood trees. i had no idea how shallow their root systems were and how dependent on forest fires these trees are. it was so peaceful to be in this setting.
we drove to yosemite falls and it was a beautiful sight to see (except don't ask ziggy what he thought). he was so cranky and didn't want to get out of the car even for a picture. finally, we dragged him out and forced him to come see the waterfall up close. here's what he said to that: "the waterfall is so boring, take me to t.j. maxx right now and get me a g.i. joe" 3 year olds are such brats!! i finally was able to talk ziggy into one nice picture in front of yosemite falls.
my baby is all grown up. he had a really good time at school and loves his teacher ms. posner. when i asked what he did at school, he told me he he ate 2 slices of apples and some crackers and one fell on the floor. he also said the teacher read him 'the first day of school' and that she was really nice.
our neighbor sayeh turned 4. they had some bunnies come and all the kids got to pick them up and pet them.
we had lunch with mrs. forlenzo. ziggy was bored and he took some pictures which i discovered later. these are by him.
