face for dinner

i made ziggy a face guy for dinner. he had an omelette face with ketchup eyes, chicken for hair, a tortilla shirt with bean buttons, cucumber arms and legs and some rice in his hands. guess what? he hated it.

montgomery county fair

fun but expensive. they did have a cow milking station if that makes you feel any better.

first ride

this was ziggy's first fair ride. we didn't have the camera for the first time he rode it but this time we did. it was fun except that shana and i got digi-ma-tized (see the third picture).

demolition derby

i enjoyed this way too much. look at shana's rad demolition derby face. ziggy says no to strangers, mark's co-worker dennis offered him kettle corn and he didn't accept. 008 maple run farm won the whole show after 6 rounds.

peach cobbler

then mark's family came by for a visit and brought this peach cobbler in a dutch oven. yum-my! john had an ear infection and spent most of the time laying on top of a paper towel.

dj and fam

hung out with my cous today. sean is turning 9 soon. he says some hilarious things that crack me up. at lunch, we were talking about some boring adult stuff and he says out of the blue "excuse me, do you mind if we change the subject now, i don't feel like talking about this...... soooooo, how do you like living in your new home?" he also entertained ziggy by playing video games and ignoring him, ziggy loved it.

crazy sweaters

mom came over today and she wore her special sweater. she bought this delightful garment at t.j. maxx a few years ago and every time she looks at it in her closet she breaks down and laughs until tears roll down her face. i'm glad she chose to wear it for the first time today at my house, i feel honored. my sweater is pretty crazy too but i wear this out on the regular.

earmuffs

i ordered ziggy these earmuffs for the demolition derby. last night we took him to the montgomery county fair where he got to try them out while sneaking a peek at the monster truck rally. the fair was fun but i forgot my camera like an idiot. i missed so many colorful photo ops including his first roller coaster ride. he loves rides, i can't wait to take him to busch gardens at the end of this month.

when ever mark and i have a fat moment, we call each other fat kimmie. here's evidence of mark being a fat kimmie. we were driving on the highway at 70mph hour when we saw this beautiful smooth dark chocolate donut pass us by. ummmmmm.

we're wrapping up all our crazy projects. we just finished grouting the tile that connie and shawn helped us put up. what a satisfying feeling. hana put up contact sheets on our windows so i've been walking around the house sans pants.

got to see niya for a hot minute last tuesday. silas is getting so big. he's such a well behaved baby and so adorable.

we have internet

i feel like i'm back in touch with the world. we're settling into our new life away from mom, shana, hana and james in mclean. even though we're 30 minutes away i still feel a little homesick and miss 24 hour family time. ziggy is doing well, he's sleeping in his own bed for the first time ever and he loves his new room. photos of our house to come soon. connie and family came to help install backsplash this past weekend. it's beautiful.
