bread boys

mark is on a bread making kick. this is the 4th weekend in a row we've had his homemade bread. this week's was the best yet. he made a ciabatta and it was tasty with the perfect texture. ziggy's making a mini pizza in the photo above.

mom's b-day

we made her breakfast and ate sweet rice cakes instead of a regular cake.

hana update

hana's on the big island today. i am so jealous!! she's heading to kona the town where ziggy teare was conceived. so far she's having a blast. she has a maid that sets her bed and folds her pjs every morning, she doesn't have to wash dishes or cook for 4 months! can you spot marky and me in the photos above?

mental jump

ziggy is developing so much this month. he can sing a handful of songs, his favorite is the blitzkreig bop by the ramones which he sings every hour of the day. he's also beginning to form short sentences and just repeating most words i say to him including elephant and macaroni. he's also very well behaved especially in restaurants where he prefers to sit in adult chairs over the booster seats.

aquarium

mark packed us a picnic and surprised us with a fun trip to the baltimore aquarium. the highlight of the trip was watching the dolphin show. they can blow bubbles on command which just seems amazing to me. we also loved seeing the sea horses (there were babies on display) and the beautiful jellyfish. i think ziggy's favorite part of the trip was when mark got him a stuffed turtle and a cotton candy peppermint stick. baltimore was so cute. i'm going to have to spend a weekend there.

toys

ziggy's always been a fan of hard plastic toys but recently he's found a new passion for stuffed animals. one of his favorite things to do is have them all piled up on him. his favorite stuffed animal right now is a little blue bear that james' grandma and aunt gave him. he sleeps with it every night and if he's not holding it when he's falling asleep he asks for "baby bear."

on saturday we went to a funeral then a birthday party.

maryland

we went into maryland today and spent the morning with natasha. she took us to a fabulous ethiopian restaurant then a horse stable near her house. it was a fun day, sunny and warmish until the clouds came in.

barbapapa

shana's friend picked up this little guy for ziggy all the way from sweden. you can also see how determined ziggy is to get this perfume sample back in the paper. he flips out when he can't.

first art class

ziggy had a good time at class today. the teacher is pretty lame, she showed up 20 minutes late then asked us if we wanted to cancel the class so she wouldn't have to sit in traffic. but it doesn't really matter, it's a place where he can get messy and i don't have to clean it up.

here's grandma driving ziggy in a box. then two boxes. ziggy is now saying halmonie which means grandma in korean. it's so cute when he says it in his voice.

the journey

has begun for hana and james. they left this morning to kick start their 4 month trip around the world (via sea). i'm going to miss them! read about their adventures here.

sleepyheads

this is a photo of ziggy's first ever 4 hour nap. it was amazing. i spent it by catching up on watching trash tv...the real housewives of orange county.

new boots
