remembering dad
i can't believe it's been three years since dad passed away. every year we've been remembering his passing with a traditional memorial service where we set out lightly seasoned food (ghosts don't like strong flavors especially garlic), incense (the kind you smell at buddhist temples), offer him beer by swirling it over the incense counterclockwise 3 times, and a lot of bowing. we also leave the front and back door open so he can fly in and out of the house. after the third year it's believed that the spirit leaves earth and heads off to bigger and better things. we love and miss you dad, hope you got to eat some deliciousness before finally heading up to find peace.
