tantrums

it's begun! ziggy threw a tantrum yesterday after the cat ran away from him. he turned around, slapped me in the face then started head butting the floor and screaming. niiiice. i just ordered this book off amazon because i found 'the happiest baby on the block' saved our butts i hope this one does the same.

georgetown

i went to georgetown with ziggyman today and i found the shirt that i've been dreaming about for the past 4 months! here he is in front of the kennedy center. the other picture is of the house of sweden. it's so cool!

shirlington is a cute little town. also, home to weenie beenie. strangers loved mark and ziggy, i swear, i kept hearing people sitting on patios oohing and awwing at them. maybe it was the matching stripes?

tofu soup

we found a delicious tofu house in annandale. not the best thing to eat when it's 90° out but yummy nonetheless! i also got a haircut with bangs. i like them but i'm finding some days i wish they didn't exist.

sick

ziggy's had his first fever for the past few days. i went to the doc yesterday and they said he was totally fine...then bam, last night he had another fever of 105! motrin and a cool bath did the trick. the poor guy, he was vegging out and watching hockey with his dad. for you parents out there...i invested in a cvs brand ear thermometer and it's great! much less invasive and easier than trying to get a rectal reading.

wyatt spent the weekend with us. we went to old town alexandria where we watched a man play classical music on wine glasses and people in colonial costume.

new doctor

we're going to see a new doctor for ziggy today. i'm hoping she is as great as the folks in california. i'm not too picky but the last doctor we visited here sucked eggs and really disappointed me.

charlottesville

what an awesome visit we had down in charlottesville. hana and james are such great hosts. we finally got to try spudnuts, a local doughnut shop where the doughnuts are made with potato flour. yum! then we went to circa, the best vintage store probably on the entire east coast. they had soooo many cute things there, even furniture, and it was all pretty cheap. the dogwoods are blooming too which makes the world more magical.

new car

we finally got a new car. it's a 2006 rav4. i can't believe we got an suv but really it doesn't use too much more gas than a camry and the leg room is so luxurious, especially for a giant like mark. we are happy with the rav4.
