cherry blossoms everywhere

we enjoyed this beautiful day with some cherry blossoms. i was supposed to wait to go with brynne but the weather was so nice and all the flowers were in bloom so i couldn't resist! i'll go again next week too, i will!

jefferson memorial lunch

ziggy ate lunch on the steps of the jefferson memorial, he had the gerber turkey barley dinner which he loves (i tasted it, not good! but he seems to love it). there was also an indian concert going on and we got a free lesson in indian dance. i had no idea how intricate the movements were, it was beautiful. ziggy dug the tunes and did a shimmy of his own.

on a shuttle

we went downtown today and sat on a shuttle. ziggy was looking out the window so quietly, i can't wait until he can tell me what's on his mind. he's such an old soul.

grandpa

ziggy loves his granddad. he went to an indoor water park with grandpa last sunday and really had a great time.

missing the bay today

i'm missing san francisco today. i miss the bright blue sky, the weird fist and bottle cleaner trees, the clean breezy air, the frufru flowers in between the car lanes in corte madera, the sailboats drifting around alacatraz, the hippies and the fish tacos. i'll just watch this music video on mute and pretend that i'm the rapper.

weaning update

oh so i promised to update you on the weaning. well my friend, it's sad to say there has been no progress! i always thought in my head that by his 1st birthday he would be done with the boob. but he loves it soooo much how can i take that away from him? i weaned him off the night feedings for 2 weeks but then i regressed. i guess my parenting style is "what baby want, baby get." is that wrong?

the last year has been pretty awesome. it's hard to believe that last year today i pushed out a baby at 9:08pm. this year we hung out with grandma at the store, went to boston market to eat mushy food with the birthday boy. then we came home and dad gave him billy bear ( a present he got from his parents when he turned 1) and a feather bed.

old friends from oudens knoop knoop + sachs

ziggy and i had lunch with some old friends from my old job yesterday. michael, natasha and andrew. it's always fun to conjure up old memories from back in the day. we ate at a place called lia's in chevy chase and the food was delicious! they have gourmet pizzas and burgers. their pizza really hit the spot (but peter's pizza was still better).

new jack

ziggy had a play date with a new friend, jack! this is a new jack, he's from seattle and is 14 months old. he's so cute and happy and he can walk. here he is with his momma rane, she's neat too.
